General Guidelines
Position of Pool
Position your pool in a part of the property protected from falling leaves and in a safe distance from places with an increased number of insects. The undersoil must be solid rather than a backfill. A backfill would need to be thickened and the base concrete slab would need to be reinforced.
Placement of Pool
Once the concrete base is created and has hardened, it is possible to proceed to the placement of the pool. Spread out a geotextile or a blinding extruded polystyrene on a perfectly clean surface and place the pool shell. Before placing the pool, a non-absorbent thermal insulation must be inserted between the ribs along the entire pool perimeter, ideally the Bachel 20 mm external insulation – we recommend including it in the delivery. While placing the pool, pay close attention not to let any dirt, stones, etc. on the surface under the pool.
Excavation – Concrete Foundation
The excavation dimensions are based on the drawing and size of the desired pool. Grade the ground with 10 cm of drainage roadstone. It is very important to drain the slab! (see drawing). The concrete slab must be perfectly level and smooth. Frame the walls with a rebar to reinforce the concrete base. If the customer selects roman steps, it is necessary to put in the concrete base under the steps as well. The slab under the steps is on the same level as the slab under the pool; base its dimensions on the drawing.
Do not forget about the following additional connections when pouring the concrete:
Under ČSN 33-2000-4-41, the additional connections electrically connect foreign conductive parts in 0-1a2 zones with the protective conductors of non-live parts of the equipment located in these zones. This connection with the protective conductor should be executed in the immediate vicinity, e.g. on the equipment or the distribution box or other equipment (ladder, handle, enclosure rails, conductive floor, etc.).
Filter Technology and Counterflow System Placement
We should strive to place the filter units as close to the pool as possible; however, the edge of the underground enclosure or electric device/filter pump/etc. shall be at least at a distance of 2 m; the maximum distance of the filtration unit from the pool is 15 m. The ideal location would be basement premises, an agricultural building, etc. If this is not possible, the filtration unit shall be placed in a plastic or concrete waterproof underground enclosure. The underground enclosure must be located at such a level as to have its edge at least 10 cm above the surrounding terrain to avoid surface water running over the edge.
To avoid any damage or deformation of the underground enclosure under soil or water pressure it is necessary to reinforce the underground enclosure with rebar and concrete its walls. While concreting the underground enclosure it is necessary to strut it transversely and longitudinally with wooden braces. It is also very important to place a drain under the underground enclosure to prevent the groundwater pressure.
